Memories of Sonic the Hedgehog
Ah, Sonic the Hedgehog. The very series that this RP is based off of holds a dear place in my heart, as I've been a fan of the hedgehog since I was 5 years old. I've got fond memories of that time playing Sonic Adventure 2 Battle on my GameCube with my younger brother, and we'd always argue over who got to play as Sonic in 2P mode. Good times, good times. I've been with the franchise throughout it's ups and downs over the years, and yet I'm still proud to say that I am a fan of Sonic, no matter what the haters say. Now, what are some of your fondest memories of events related to the blue blur?

Re: Memories of Sonic the Hedgehog
My family used to own a sega gneiss, and the only game I would play was Sonic the Hedgehog 2. I missed out on the Sonic Adventure Games, But when I got my PS2 I was able to get the sonic mega collection, and because of that, I fell in love with the plot line of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Knuckles.
I also have played Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog, and despite the negative reviews of those games, I still enjoyed them. Too bad I have no clue where they went.

Re: Memories of Sonic the Hedgehog
I agree with your stance on Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog. I can see how the gunplay and darker storyline turned away some of the purists and led to them bashing ShTH. But I honestly found the gunplay to be quite fun, because the way they implemented it worked well with the Sonic series gameplay. And the storylines were already getting darker in Adventure 2, and I don't see many people whining about how bleak Prof. Gerald's video message was in the last story of that game. As for Heroes, I actually liked how creative they could be with the level design and enemy strategies centered around team-based gameplay, but I found that running through the same levels 4 times could be a little boring at times. And the cheesy dialogue, of course. I don't mind Sonic games getting a little serious as long as the gameplay is fun. That's where Sonic 06 fails.

Re: Memories of Sonic the Hedgehog
I agree with Stormer. Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic Heroes were pretty good but Sonic 06 just plain out failed. The storyline erased its self out of existence, the hedgehog- human love was weird and the gameplay sucked. The only good thing about it is the kick@$$ soundtrack!

The gunplay was one of the things I enjoyed about it.

Wait, Durzan, you mean ShTH right? Because I agree with you, even though to get the guns you had to kill aliens or GUN to get them. That really hurts when you are trying to be completely good or completely evil.

Yeah, you and I both know that all too well, brother. But you can't deny that the Black Arms at least had it coming to them. Them alien bastards shot up my ride!

Stormer, I'm not so sure about SG. I mean the 2D/3D gameplay was cool but the story is weird.

Yeah those are good too. Personally, I like the Crush 40 version of Sonic Boom better than the original.

What is your favorite Eggman invention? For me, it is either E102 Gamma or Metal Sonic.

Re: Memories of Sonic the Hedgehog
I like the boss battle with Eggman in Mushroom Hill Zone act 2. That had one of the funniest endings to the level I had ever seen. So I guess that would be my favorite invention... aside from the giant Egg-robo from the Death Egg.

Re: Memories of Sonic the Hedgehog
Okay, lets involve the new guys in this thread...
Questions:
1. Whats your favorite Sonic game and why?
2. Whats your favorite Sonic song?
3. If you could change just one thing about just one Sonic game of your choice, what would it be?

Re: Memories of Sonic the Hedgehog
My favorite Sonic game is most definitely Sonic Generations. Packed to the brim with fanservice (the good kind) galore, revisiting some of my all-time favorite Sonic stages in glorious HD, and having quite possibly the best soundtrack in a Sonic game ever. It perfected the Modern gameplay style, and showed that Sega still hadn't forgotten about what made the classic Sonic games so great by including Classic Sonic. It was a game worthy of being Sonic's 20th anniversary milestone, and I'll always be willing to play it.

Meh, true, but personally, I like Sonic Unleashed. It has a good story, nice graphic and awesome gameplay.
